Benefits for Associations

01One of the main purposes of sports associations is to organize regional and national competitions in which their members can participate. This is not always easy. The size of the country, state or province is one reason. In a large country or province, travel costs may make the organization of country- or province-wide competition very expensive. Another reason is that potential sponsors are not equally interested in all sports. For example, in Canada it is much easier to find sponsors for an ice-hockey tournament than for a table tennis tournament. As a result, table tennis players have fewer opportunities to test themselves in competitively organized matches.

02Such problems can be solved by letting players organize their own competitive matches whenever and wherever it suits them. equRanking allows them to do that because it integrates not only the results of tournaments, but also the results of individual matchups, whenever and wherever they take place. For example, with equRanking, any member who lives in Montreal but happens to be traveling to Vancouver can arrange to play ranking matches with participating players there.

03This will give them a valuable opportunity to test themselves and get experience, of course, but in our ranking design, those matches also count in the overall country-wide competition organized by the national association. All the players have to do is report the results of their matches to the national federation - or have a certified referee they both authorize to do it for them - and the national competitive ranking system will be updated accordingly.
